For Professors
What's the deal?
ASP Press supports university professors
and courses to as large an extent possible by providing online resources
as well as very low priced educational materials. These
are the same materials used to augment and teach
on-line and in-class courses at other universities and the same
materials provided commercially at far higher prices. Our offerings
include three variations:
- Complete Course Setups: We offer complete course packages
for specific courses by professor arrangement at the lowest prices as
exemplified by the packages for the UNH courses. These have to be set
up in advance by professors and are only offered to registered students.
In some cases lecture material can be provided by the professor and a
custom class CD built for the course as part of the process. The prices
are so low because we know we will get at least 10-12 orders for the
materials once a year or so.
- Books and CDs: We provide individual books and CDs for
students who are registered in accredited universities. Any student who
is registered and can FAX us a copy of a current valid student ID card
gets these discounts.
- Common Class Setups: For some courses taught at UNH we
offer generic versions of the full course setups without any need for
professors to provide content. All the professor has to do is send in a
class list and tell the students where to go to order. These typically
include at least 2 CDs and in some cases course books. The CDs include
a set of pre-recorded class lectures with Web-based viewgraphs and
bootable Linux CDs with custom software for the courses.
How do I set up a class?
For any of the standard classes, just provide a list
of students (via FAX) and specify which course you are interested in.
If you want a class discount for your class, get in touch with us and we
will create a special class listing for your class and customize the set
of deliverables as desired. We also provide assistance to professors in
using these materials. For custom classes get in touch with us and we
will be happy to work out a class-specific deal. Professors wishing
sample copies can do so by providing appropriate details on the classes
they intend or hope to use our materials on.
